The Mindful Path

A Journey Through ADHD with Meditation

Four Thursdays in January 2025

Starting January 9th

I have heard so many times “I’m ADD I can’t meditate”. I am here to show you the way to your own form of meditation, experientially. I was diagnosed with ADHD in the late-1990’s and I have been practicing mindfulness meditation ever since. Awareness is actually ADHD’s superpower. And mindfulness gives us deeper and more fulfilling access to it. I firmly believe that ADHD is a gift that just needs to be harnessed, and this class is designed especially for all those who identify as attention challenged adults.

Class 1 - Intro to Mindfulness

Mindfulness has many aspects. We dip our toe into awareness practices to start things out. Then we dive into the concepts of attention, awareness and mindfulness. The main practice introduces the concept of a meditation anchor and we play around with which one is the best match for you.

Class 2 - Racing Thoughts

Racing thoughts are prevalent with ADHD and in our In our main practice we learn how to deal with them during meditation and how to calm a racing mind. Before this, we go deeper into the meaning of mindfulness and why we meditate, and how we can always keep it shiny so we can be “consistently inconsistent”.

Class 3 - Self Kindness

So often we think because we are attention challenged there is something wrong with us and we beat ourselves up. Being kind to ourselves is the way out of this. The main practice in this class is designed to help us develop self-kindness so we can put that inner critic to rest.

Class 4 - Emotional Storms

In the final class of this series we learn to deal with the emotional storms that can accompany ADHD. Most times our feeling are so bunched up we can easily get overwhelmed. But by learning how to break them into their components we can start to see what our feelings actually are.
